SINGHARAJA RAIN FOREST
A NATURAL PLACE IN SRI LANKA
Singharajaya is a world heritage. It is a rain
forest that means there is a frequent rain fall throughout year. The
Singharajaya is Surrounded by Sabaragamuwa Province, Western Province and
Southern Province. The surrounded district are Rathnapura, Kaluthara, Mathara,
Galle.
The singharajaya is about 9000 hectares in extend. There are 9 hills in Singharajaya. The Hinipitigala is the highest mountain in Singharajaya. There are several water fall in Singharajaya. The Duwili Ella is a one omong them.
There are trees and plant in Singharajaya.
Medicine plant huge trees, endemic plants, are in Singharajaya. Beautiful birds
are in there. Some of them are blue magtie, Suduredihora, Siwruhora, and
Parrots there are. Some endemic fish in Singharajaya.
There are many types of animals in this rain
forest. Some of them are Deer, Samdher, Elephant,Lepards, monkeys, and many
beautiful butterflies are in there.
Many visitors come to see this place they bring polythene and plastics. It is big problem to singharajaya. Our duty to protect this valuable treasure for next generation.
